PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To grow SPOUTS’ market presence in Kenya by driving sales, building strong revenue-generating channels, and developing strategic partnerships in alignment with the Country Director and the company’s market-entry strategy.
 
Responsibility
Commercial Strategy & Market Establishment
  • Continue market entry and position Purifaaya (Spouts Kenya Entity) across Kenya through targeted commercial strategies.
  • Identify and unlock high-potential regions, customer segments, and partners.
  • Ensure alignment with the Kenya Country Director on market-entry priorities.
Sales Growth & Channel Development
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets across direct, distributor, retail, and institutional channels.
  • Maintain a robust commercial pipeline with ≥90% forecast accuracy.
  • Grow revenue year-on-year through continuous pipeline development and ensuring repeat business from existing customers, particularly key accounts
Partnerships, Representation & Team Development (25%)
  • Build strategic relationships with NGOs, county governments, corporates, and other partners.
  • Represent SPOUTS in commercial and external engagements to drive visibility.
Team management
  • Develop a plan for future staffing of the commercial team in Kenya based on overall commercial strategy
  • Manage existing commercial team members
  • Implement performance management systems to monitor progress and drive results.
Marketing & Brand Alignment
  • Collaborate with the Country Director to drive campaigns that support sales objectives.
  • Ensure brand consistency and visibility across all sales channels.
Budget & Resource Management
  • Manage budgets for sales activations, market entry initiatives, and team growth.
  • Ensure efficient allocation of resources for maximum ROI.

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.Required
MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred.Preferred
Certification in sales, key account management, or commercial strategy is an advantage.Added advantage
Valid driving licenseRequired
ExperienceMinimum 5–7 years of experience in sales, business development, or commercial management.5-7 years
Proven experience in market entry, channel development, and revenue growth in a similar sector (FMCG, water/health products, or consumer goods).5-7 years
Experience working on a carbon credit project or an organization working with carbon credits is an added advantage, but not required. Added advantage
Business Understanding / Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of the Kenyan market, distribution channels, and commercial landscape.
  • Ability to develop and execute commercial strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Experience managing relationships with distributors, retailers, institutional clients, and local authorities.
  • Extensive networks across counties, NGOs, corporates, and government stakeholders to accelerate market entry and growth.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Role requires frequent travel across counties in Kenya to support market entry, sales activations, and partner engagement.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours to meet business and market demands.
  • Occasionally required to attend national or regional meetings and events representing Purifaaya.
